Covenant Trust Company® is a non-depository trust company chartered in 1988 and regulated by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Banking. Though its offices are in Illinois, Covenant Trust Company provides trustee services and asset management for individuals and organizations nationwide. Covenant Trust Company serves as trustee or agent for over 1,800 accounts, and currently manages over $360,000,000 for individuals and ministries of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The owner-shareholders of Covenant Trust Company are Covenant Ministries of Benevolence, North Park University, and the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Covenant Trust Company’s central office in Skokie, Illinois has a staff of nineteen. Additionally, twelve Financial Services Representatives work nationwide with current and prospective clients. [view Directory]
The Financial Services Representative [FSR] is the client’s primary contact. The Trust Administrator assigned to the account in the Skokie office is also available to the client by telephone or e-mail.
The Trust Administration Department handles the day-to-day management of all accounts. This includes client communication, regular and special payments, general account questions, new accounts, coordination of document preparation, distributions to remainder beneficiaries, and various other duties.
The Operations Department processes all transactions and trades pertaining to client accounts, arranges asset transfers to fiduciary accounts, prepares payment and distribution checks, prepares client statements, and is responsible for all corporate accounting.
The Investment Department reviews all funding assets, makes initial portfolio allocation recommendations, oversees periodic account reviews by the Investment Committee, initiates asset sales and purchases, reviews investment performance, and handles investment of corporate assets.
The daily operation of the corporation and marketing are the responsibility of the Corporate Administration and Marketing Departments, respectively.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
- It is not necessary to be a member of a Covenant church to work with Covenant Trust Company—for example, both non-Covenant alumni of North Park University and non-Covenant residents of Covenant Retirement Communities have made their legacy plans with the assistance of Covenant Trust Company
- The services of Covenant Trust Company are available to anyone with a desire to participate in the work of Covenant ministries through a bequest or other deferred gift arrangement, and who needs help working through financial planning for the future, regardless of age or net worth
- Trained Financial Services Representatives are available to give assistance where needed. Every regional conference has a Financial Services Representative; and each Covenant Retirement Communities campus receives regular visits from its local Financial Services Representative [view Directory]—there is no obligation on your part for requesting information or meeting with a Financial Services Representative
- We pledge total confidentiality and privacy and there are no high-pressure sales tactics
- We listen to your goals and desires, because we know there is no pre-packaged plan that’s right for everyone
- We encourage you to consult your own attorney, accountant or other professional advisors, and we are happy to work with them to provide the best possible help
- Any designation of a gift for a specific Covenant ministry or institution is honored—you decide which Covenant ministries will benefit from your legacy
